On February 1st, the People's Committee of O Dien commune organized the 2026 Vocational Training Counseling and Orientation Day, attracting more than 1,000 9th grade students from secondary schools in the area and a large number of parents to participate.
Speaking at the festival, Vice Chairman of O Dien Commune People's Committee Bui Thi Thu Hang said that human resource development, especially human resources with vocational skills, is identified as one of the strategic breakthroughs in the process of industrialization, modernization and sustainable development. This viewpoint has been affirmed in the resolutions of the Central Government and has been concretized by Hanoi City with many important programs and projects.
According to Ms. Hang, vocational education and student stratification are not only tasks of the education sector alone but also fundamental solutions to improve labor quality, expand job opportunities, ensure social security, thereby contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the locality and the Capital.
In the context of the labor market undergoing strong changes under the impact of science - technology and digital transformation, qualifications are no longer the only measure. Instead, professional skills, solid skills, adaptability and lifelong learning spirit are increasingly playing a decisive role. Choosing a suitable learning path after graduating from secondary school is therefore important, not only for each student but also directly affecting the structure and quality of human resources in the long term.
Clearly aware of this, the People's Committee of O Dien commune determined that career guidance and student stratification are regular tasks of the entire political system. Over the past time, the locality has proactively coordinated with vocational education institutions, schools and mass organizations to propagate and provide complete and transparent information about vocational training, training majors and job opportunities after graduation.

At the booths, students are consulted on enrollment, introduced to occupations, training levels, learning conditions and job opportunities; and directly observe and experience vocational skills such as hairdressing, mixing drinks, cooking...
Notably, the booth of Hanoi Intermediate Vocational School of Public Works and Transport attracts a large number of students with a learning car model, helping them experience the car repair vocational training process. Mr. Tran Van Chinh - Deputy Head of the Automotive Technology Department of the school - said that the school currently trains 20 intermediate-level occupations such as automotive technology, automotive paint technology, welding, industrial electronics, hotel management, information technology... with a scale of more than 1,000 students each year.
Through counseling activities, we want to help secondary school students have a correct understanding of vocational training, thereby choosing a career that suits their abilities and passions," Mr. Chinh shared.
As a student participating in the festival, Do Tien Dat (Hong Ha Secondary School) said that he really loves the car repair profession and is even more interested after being advised and specifically introduced by the teachers. "The festival is very useful for final year students like us," Dat said.
