On February 1st, representatives of the leaders of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Education and Training said that the unit had received a report explaining the reasoning of To Hien Thanh High School related to the reflection that teachers arbitrarily changed the exam scores of the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the school's report, during the process of updating the scores of the semester I concentrated exams to the electronic score book system, the phenomenon of scores of some students when entering on the system has a difference of increase - decrease compared to the scores announced to students. This information was then reflected to the school.

According to the complaint about Ms. Doan Thi Hang, the school determined that the complaint was well-founded. The verification results showed that Ms. Hang had updated all the scores of the 3 classes she taught on January 15, 2026. When the school inspected and verified in the afternoon of January 16, 2026, the scores were updated to match the test results of the students.
Ms. Hang said that the score deviation between increase and decrease was due to negligence in the data entry process and subjectivity in not reviewing again. After discovering it, teachers proactively adjusted and updated the correct scores for students.
For the case of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hong, the cause was determined to be due to incorrectly entering the student order in the grade I midterm score column of class 10A3, because the announced score list did not match the class list.
Through a comprehensive review, the school determined that some classes and subjects had deviation scores in the mid-term and end-term score columns, mainly concentrated in classes with large numbers of students, many score columns or teachers teaching many classes.
To Hien Thanh High School affirmed that so far no cases of teachers intentionally intervening, raising scores or falsifying student learning assessment results for personal purposes have been detected. The arising errors were identified as technical errors in the data entry process and have been promptly rectified.
The school also pointed out many reasons for errors, including adjusting the process this school year in the direction that teachers directly enter scores on the system instead of the specialized department as in previous years. Some teachers, especially elderly teachers, are still limited in information technology operations; some teachers teach many classes, have a large workload, and have a tight schedule at the end of the semester, so confusion can easily occur.
In addition, the update of re-examination scores and re-exam scores in some cases is not timely; the difference between the decimal-digit two-digit score announced and the score entered on the electronic score book that is only rounded by one digit; as well as the coordination, review, and comparison of data between departments that were not synchronized at one time are also causes of errors.
According to previous feedback, at the mid-semester I and late-semester I exams of the 2025-2026 school year, teacher Doan Thi Hang (Literature teacher at the school) corrected 126 scores of students in grades 11C4, 11C9 and 12B3 when entering scores to the VnEdu system.
The scores were mainly revised in the direction of increasing from 1-3 points compared to the actual test and the results were initially announced by the school. Even, there were cases where students from 5-6 points were increased to 8 points, from 7 points increased to 8 points. In addition, some cases of students being reduced scores were also recorded.
According to initial inspection results, the error is not only related to teacher Doan Thi Hang. To Hien Thanh High School also discovered incorrect grade entry in many other subjects and has requested professional teams to continue reviewing and rectifying.
