The 10th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2025 was launched from January 20, 2025 at the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award. On May 9, 2025, the Steering Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award issued Plan No. 254-KH/BTCTW on organizing the 10th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2025 (attached to the Award Regulations) with many new contents to continue to expand the scope and widespread influence of the Award. Following that, the Steering Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award issued Official Dispatch No. 2467-CV/BCĐ, dated July 3, 2025 on responding to the 10th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2025, requesting provincial party committees, city party committees, and party committees directly under the Central Government to pay attention to directing press agencies in their management scope to actively respond to the Award.
Seriously implementing Plan No. 254-KH/BTCTW and Official Dispatch No. 2467-CV/BCĐ, provincial Party committees, city Party committees and Party committees directly under the Central Government have established Steering Committees, Organizing Committees, issued Plans to organize the Award and developed detailed and specific information and propaganda plans suitable to the actual situation in localities and units, associated with the implementation and response to the Xth Golden Hammer and Sickle Award. At the same time, there are documents directing press agencies within their management scope to develop programs and plans for propaganda on Party building work, orienting information on issues of public concern in Party building work, ensuring comprehensiveness and synchronization in all aspects: politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres, associated with the focuses in Party building work in 2025. Many provinces and cities have assigned specific and appropriate tasks to the advisory bodies of the province and city party committees, including holding meetings to organize coordination with the propaganda and training departments of the provinces and city party committees to provide information on the results of Party building work and the local political system, introduce new models, creative and effective ways of doing things, and new factors and typical figures so that press agencies have creative materials for high-quality journalistic works.
As of the end of receiving entries for the 10th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2025, the Standing Agency of the Award (Communist Magazine) has received a total of 2,296 works. Including 643 print newspaper works, 866 electronic newspaper works, 464 television works, 230 radio works and 93 press photo works.
Closely following the direction of the Organizing Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, the Organizing Committee of the Award established a Preliminary Examination Council including the Chairman, 4 Vice Chairmen of the Council and 56 members who are dedicated, responsible and experienced journalists in judging press awards. The Final Examination Council consists of 29 members, who are experts and leading officials representing the guiding, ideological orientation and state management agencies in the field of journalism, veteran journalists with a comprehensive and innovative structure, increasing the representativeness of fields, ensuring more neutrality and objectivity.
With a spirit of urgency and high responsibility, from November 18 to December 4, 2025, 6 sub-committees of the Preliminary Examination Council completed the judging of the preliminary round works, selecting 138 works for the final round according to the Award Regulations. The Final Examination Council, with a spirit of impartiality, objectivity, and democracy, selected the best works and submitted them to the Steering Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award to decide to award 6 A Prizes, 13 B Prizes, 18 C Prizes, 10 thematic prizes and 35 Consolation Prizes. The Standing Agency of the Award submits to the Steering Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award to decide to reward 15 collectives who are propaganda and mass mobilization departments, Party committee organizing committees, press agencies and journalist associations with outstanding achievements in organizing and implementing the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award in localities and units.

Works participating in the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award 2025 in central and local press agencies continue to be rich in topics and genres and are present in all provinces and cities across the country. Central press agencies are actively participating with many high-quality works. Local press, this year many newspapers have invested meticulously with many high-quality works. It is noteworthy that the types of local press in 2025 are of uniform quality and have made clear progress compared to previous years. Most of the works closely followed hot issues, outstanding events, and key tasks of the political system and the country, such as the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the 80th anniversary of National Day 2/9, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification; about the situation and results of innovation and determination to complete the 10-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2030, the efforts of the entire political system to create a breakthrough in completing socio-economic targets in 2025, the year of completing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2020-2025.
Many works have deeply reflected the current issues of Party building and rectification and the political system, which are the situation and results over 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress together with the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels for the 2020–2025 term and resolutions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Executive Committee of the 13th term, especially the implementation of the revolution in the organizational structure of the political system from the Central to the grassroots level associated with arranging and adjusting administrative boundaries, organizing the 2-level local government model; the completion of institutions on Party building and political system building; continuing to innovate Party leadership methods, improving the capacity to organize the implementation of Party guidelines and policies along with tasks and breakthrough solutions in socio-economic development and Party building; actively and proactively preparing for Party congresses at all levels for the 2025–2030 term towards the 14th National Party Congress... A new feature in the content of journalistic works participating in the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award 2025 is that it vividly and promptly reflects the events and political activities of the Party such as: The organization of collecting opinions on the Document of the 14th National Party Congress; the implementation of some new guiding viewpoints of General Secretary To Lam on the era of national rise; on combating wastefulness; on strengthening Party building and rectification; on streamlining the organizational structure, streamlining staff; summarizing 40 years of renovation, preparing for Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress... Many works after being published and broadcast have attracted the attention of a large number of publics and readers. This shows that the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award is increasingly spreading strongly.
Another new feature is about the organization of the award ceremony; this year, it will combine the organization of the Excellent Party Cell Secretary Commendation Ceremony with the announcement and awarding of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award for the 10th time - 2025. According to you, in the work of building and rectifying the Party and the development of modern journalism, how do journalistic works need to innovate content and form of expression?
Regarding content, the press needs to closely follow the political current affairs of the Party and the country, promptly reflect the situation of implementing the Party's directives and resolutions in practice and detect difficulties, inadequacies, and "bottlenecks" in the process of bringing resolutions into life to have recommendations or proposals for timely solutions to remove them. At the same time, the press also needs to have a comprehensive view under the "lens" of Party building to closely follow reality, propagate covering all angles and all aspects of political, socio-economic, security, defense, and foreign affairs of the country.
In terms of form, it is necessary to use new models in modern journalism, strengthen the use and creativity of publishing forms of electronic journalism. The 10th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award has had many press agencies using multimedia methods, longform and mega story articles in electronic journalism are used a lot, integrating many forms of expression to help works become vivid and persuasive.

After the Launching Ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Award will issue the Plan to organize the 11th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2026, which will include key contents specifically and deeply orienting the press to propagate and create journalistic works to participate in the Award. In the immediate future, in addition to the regular propaganda contents on Party building and rectification work, press agencies need to focus on orienting journalists to have journalistic works on the key contents mentioned above.
